Ok, here's the deal. Apparently one of Frank's dying requests was that
the music be kept alive. Well, that's what we're trying to do, simply 'cos we think people should hear it. If we thought for a minute that
we were denigrating FZ's art, or ripping off someone's livelihood by popping a few free tunes on this lil' ol' site, then we wouldn't do it.
Frank's passed-on and he doesn't need the money. Gail and the kids don't need the money,
and if they released cool stuff like the Roxy movie, they'd have even more money. So...
... every month or so we'll feature randomly-selected tracks that don't sound too bad and have most of the right notes and words. Most of these will be straight
soundboard tapes, and as such will have an un-lovely, flat feel that accentuates certain things (usually the snare and the vocals), and
buries other things (usually the bass). Others may be from random mic'ing or video footage, and as such will usually have a bit of hiss and audience
background noise. You have been warned.
In keeping with one of Frank's key tennets, the element of surprise, this section will only feature a number which represents the date and
sequence of the recording. Right-click (mac users can suit yourselves) on the number and click on "save target as" to download. For those of you who
just can't stand the idea of randomonium and want to find out exactly what you're getting, live a little. Feel free to rename the thing if you wanna keep it.
On a 56k modem the average download time will be roughly twice as long as the song.
